About the band
Proudly Supporting High School Musical Arts Since 2010
Since 2010 the Cleveland High School (CvHS) Band program has provided an excellent music program and learning opportunity for its students. As a part of the CvHS Fine Arts program it continues the commitment to high school Fine Arts and Music Programs known throughout the county. The band also continues the traditions established at Cleveland High School (1926-1969); which our school was named after. CvHS band students come from the following Middle Schools: Clayton, Cleveland and McGees.
Classes began in the Fall of 2010 with the opening of the new Cleveland High School. However, even before there were classrooms CvHS principal Ms. Anne Meredith brought a sense of reality to the program in September 2009 when she shared her vision of the program with the students that would become the first band class and their parents. That first class consisted of students in the ninth and tenth grade.
The band has two academic courses (Marching Band and Concert Band) and offers extra-curricular courses (Winterguard, Winter Winds and Indoor Percussion). The students perform, exhibit, and compete at various events at the local, state and regional level.
We are proud to have Mr. Jason Heard as the Band Director at CvHS.
